Google is the most used search engine on the entire internet and until now no one had overshadowed it. However, a new actor has emerged that could change that trend. This is you.com, a new search engine that has become one of the most original alternatives to Google in recent years.
If you don’t know, I’ll tell you everything. Here we explain what you.com AI is and how it works, a search engine with artificial intelligence (AI) that aims to rival and replace Google.
What is you.com AI?
Do you know what you.com AI search engine is and how it works? As the Washington Post reports, this is a search engine that hopes to compete with the giants we all know. It is because according to the company that created this engine, they hope to provide people with personalized results.
Furthermore, according to the American newspaper, the new website has attracted investments from Silicon Valley and has the support of the founder of Salesforce, Marc Benioff.

How does you.com AI search engine work?
Like Google, you.com still offers results summaries on different pages and a private browsing mode called On You. You’ll also see a list of links and results will be sorted by image rows and traditional search results or a carousel option from sites like Twitter and Reddit.
Of course, this new search engine is highly dependent on other search engines. It even worked with Microsoft’s Bing search engine to produce some results. According to Computer Today you.com AI has a chatbot that acts as its own search guide and, in addition to publishing, makes money through affiliate links and monthly subscriptions.
What makes you.com AI different?
While most of us think there’s nothing wrong with Google (and sometimes there’s nothing you can do to improve it), Richard Socher sees it differently. The first thing programmers consider when creating a search engine is user privacy. You.com does not ask you to remember your browsing history or use cookies.
It also prevents websites and ads from tracking your browsing. The second aspect is the user’s time. This is because the design of the results screen displays multiple levels of information to help users find what they are looking for without the paid search results that are central to Google’s business model.
The third aspect is customization. Users can configure the sites whose results they want to see through the plugin, which prioritizes information from selected sites.
However, for the other two searches, You.com returns a combination of search results and “apps,” which are collections of content. Some apps are traditional sites like CNET.com. Others, like smartphone reviews ranked through a service called Looria that curates reviews from Reddit, seem a bit vague.
The layout is a bit confusing and it’s not always clear which pages You.com AI prioritizes. Scroll down the page to the right, especially if the search results are organized vertically, but the app results are organized horizontally.
Social Search on You.com: True Power
You.com, on the other hand, includes a social search engine that is a real winner. Interestingly, neither Google nor Microsoft Bing offer search categories that allow you to explore the world’s most popular social sites, and You.com does surprisingly well here.
Whether it’s live reactions or news on a specific topic, you can find the latest information from Twitter in the “Latest” tab. But here You.com does a great job of uncovering the different topics that people are talking about in the first place.

YouChat: AI-powered chat search
From an AI perspective, Chat is the most important tool You.com offers, followed by Imagine and Write. Chat is another name for YouChat and appears to the right of the main search results or is selected as the default interface during “Chat”.
YouChat’s rapidly developing OpenAI chatbot that provides real answers may not depend on Chat GPT. While the tone and excuses of the responses, such as why I can’t provide Sandra Bullock’s phone number, vary, they are clearly similar in function.
YouWrite is mainstream content creation powered by AI.
YouWrite is very similar to Canva’s Magic Write, an AI-based tool for creating different types of text (blogs, essays, paragraphs, social media posts). It has several tones (professional, neutral, friendly, persuasive) and specific types of listening.
Are there differences between YouChat and YouWrite?
In a way, no. For example, you could ask YouWrite or YouChat to explain why nihilism should be your preferred philosophy, and YouWrite would add about 100 words to the question. YouWrite is a paid tool, but restarting the site seems to restore the distribution of AI-written articles (always 10). (I did not participate).
YouImagine: fast and easy AI art
One of the reasons you should sign up for a You.com account is the Image feature, which requires you to create an account before you can start creating your work. You can also create work in “private mode,” but you must log in to do so. Enter an unknown mode in the browser and then do it on the image.
This site does not seem to provide any number of images frequently. Not only does the site produce 768×768 images, but it also lacks additional options like high resolution, colorization, height adjustment or CFG scaling, or sophisticated output previews. It is not specified where they come from. However, images are delivered in seconds.

You.com AI has a lot to improve
One of the biggest mistakes You.com made was that when asked about the 2022 World Cup, YouChat provided completely incorrect information and did not explain the location and date of the final and even the identity of the winning team. It’s crazy considering how busy the internet is with this story.
But the company that runs You.com recognizes the limitations of artificial intelligence. In a statement on their website, they state that it is in beta and may have limited accuracy.
Therefore, they warn you that they are not responsible for any content created on YouChat. On the other hand, amid fears that Chat GPT will replace the service, there is no doubt that Google will migrate this feature at some point.
The sudden popularity of Chat GPT has raised concerns, particularly at Google. The search giant has a technology similar to Chat GPT called LaMDA. Yes, I found out a few months ago. So far, people in Mountain View have resisted the post because they fear it could provoke an embarrassing backlash or repeated hate speech.
This has already happened with other AIs, including those from Microsoft and Facebook. For now, ChatGPT and You.com AI are nothing more than interesting demonstrations of what artificial intelligence will be like in the future.
